Our
Story

Founded in the summer of 2025, the Diamond Kings are one of Southern California’s newest and most exciting travel baseball programs. Sponsored by LA Sports Management, a boutique MLB agency led by veteran agent Dan Szew, the Diamond Kings combine elite-level coaching, player development, and competitive exposure to help athletes stand out at the next level.

THE MISSION IS SIMPLE

To prepare players for success at the high school, college, and professional levels through advanced training, competitive experiences, and connections within the scouting and recruiting world. The Diamond Kings are more than just a travel team, we are a pathway for athletes who aspire to play beyond youth baseball.

WHY CHOOSE DIAMOND KINGS?

  • Backed by LA Sports Management - A direct feeder into a nationally respected MLB Agency that represents professional players and scouts amateur talent.

  • Professional Coaching - Led by Coach Kyle Raimo, a professional scout and coach with experience evaluating and developing players for MLB organizations.

  • Exposure at the Right Events - Competing in top regional and national tournaments where college recruiters and pro scouts are watching. Think FiveTool Baseball, Perfect Game, and Summer Classics.

  • Player Development First - Emphasis on fundamentals, mechanics, mindset, and accountability to ensure athletes improve every season.

  • Culture & Community - We value character, discipline, and teamwork; preparing players for the game and for life.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?

Most travel programs focus on filling rosters and "pooling" players for events, moving kids in and out depending on the tournament. This often leaves parents frustrated, coaches disconnected, and players uncertain about their role.

The Diamond Kings are structured differently. We are a development-first program designed to meet athletes where they are, on top of showcasing them. Plans are individualized but not isolated. Every player is invested in, every family is included, and every coach is aligned around the same mission: growth and opportunity.

Our players train and compete together throughout the season, building chemistry, accountability and measurable improvement. We teach more than just mechanics. Athletes learn how to carry themselves with confidence, interact with college coaches, scouts, and executives, and prepare for future opportunities. Players gain the tools for identifying the right college fit, understanding which showcases matter (and which don't), and navigating the recruiting landscape.

Today's athletes need to build their own brand. We help players (and families) understand how to present themselves online in ways that attract coaches and programs. Just because you are getting exposure does not necessarily mean it is good exposure. Communication is a priority. We work with parents as partners, not outsiders, ensuring everyone understands the player's journey and development plan.

HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM STRUCTURE

Timeline: The Diamond Kings High School Program begins around Memorial Day Weekend at the conclusion of high school playoffs and runs through the final weekend of August.

Tournaments: Teams compete in 2 or more tournaments per month, giving players both consistent game reps and high-level exposure.

Practices: The high school program trains 2-4 times per month, with sessions designed to:

  • Challenge players with advanced drills

  • Simulate showcase-style environments

  • Track and measure growth over the season

  • Performance tracking with video, stats, and scouting feedback

WHAT PLAYERS & FAMLIES CAN EXPECT

  • High-Level Practices – Designed to simulate real showcase events and push athletes out of their comfort zone.

  • Performance Tracking – Video, stats, and scouting feedback to measure growth across the summer.

  • Recruiting Exposure – Support with recruiting, college prep, and advisement.

  • Proven Pathways – Access to LA Sports Management’s network of scouts, coaches, and recruiters.

  • Family Atmosphere – Transparent communication and a program built on trust.

FUTURE TEAMS/EXPANSION

The Diamond Kings are building a complete development pathway for athletes at multiple age levels. Starting in Spring 2026, we will launch our first 13U team, competing on regulation fields with a 60-foot mound and 90-foot bases.

This marks the beginning of the Diamond Kings’ expansion into younger age groups, giving players access to:

  • Professional-level instruction earlier in their careers

  • A competitive environment that prepares them for high school and beyond

  • The same values of discipline, development, and opportunity that define the Diamond Kings program

As the organization grows, additional age groups will be added to create a full Diamond Kings pipeline from 13U through showcase-level teams.

WANT TO JOIN THE DIAMOND KINGS?

The Diamond Kings are selective by design. We do not hold open tryouts. Instead, players are evaluated directly by Coach Kyle Raimo at one of their games or practices. This ensures that every athlete is treated the same way a major league or collegiate program would scout them, based not only on ability, but also on character.

When evaluating a player, we look in addition to on-field performance. We assess:

  • How you respond to adversity and failure

  • How you carry yourself in the dugout and on the field

  • Your leadership, attitude, and ability to be a great teammate

This approach allows us to build rosters that are competitive, cohesive, and made up of athletes who share our program's values.

Last summer, our roster included players from 11 different high schools, a testament to the diversity and quality of talent within our program. We keep rosters tight to maximize development and opportunity for every player.

For Summer 2026, the Diamond Kings are going national. We will expand our scouting region and roster size to bring in top athletes from across Southern California, further elevating the competition level and exposure our players receive.
